Melvin D. Thompson
Founder January 4, 1934- October 31, 2015
Licensed for over 55 years and owner of The L.H. Woodward Funeral Home for over 40 years. Mr. Thompson has worked tirelessly serving families and the community at large. His affiliations are with local, state, national and international organizations.
Motto: "If I can help someone as I pass this way then my living shall not be in vain."

Lynda Thompson

Vicki Thompson-Greene
Assistant Manager Retired
After being at the funeral home for over 26 years she decided to retire from funeral service in March of 2019..
An honorably discharged Marine, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from American Academy McAllister Institute. Vicki has served as President of Brooklyn- Long Island and Empire State Funeral Directors Association and is a licensed notary She is married with four children.
Her motto "I do the best I can ...then put the rest in God's hands".

Venus Thompson
Licensed Funeral Director October 4, 1961- January 7, 2025
Licensed Funeral Director for over 35 years with the Woodward Funeral Home family. Venus
speaks both English and Spanish and is able to conduct services to fit the needs of the family. Venus is a member of National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association. She has served as Secretary on a local level and ETA Chapter member. Sadly Venus passed away on January 7th 2025 after saying goodnight to the staff. May she rest in peace and thank you for your 40 years in funeral service.
Motto:" We as Funeral Directors are clean canvases and can only receive the paint and colors from our customers in order to provide them a picture for the frame of their loved one."

Simona Ross
Licensed Funeral Director
Sinoma Ross has jumped right in and became a dedicated part of the family. Simona graduated Magna Cum Laude from the American Academy McAllister Institute for Funeral Services. Simona participates in "Career Day" at local schools giving the students insight on funeral services. Being a mother of four children, she encourages the students to stay in school and achieve any goal they may pursue.
Motto: "Live everyday to the absolute fullest".
Support Staff
Typically not seen during the funeral, the behind-the-scenes presence of support staff is nonetheless critical to the day-to-day operation of our facilities. Our support staff plays an important role in ensuring our high standard of service. We are proud of their dedication and commitment.

Kevin Pritchett
Preparation Technician July 1, 1961 - January 12, 2025
"I Thank my Heavenly Father for the gift of talent and wisdom" He has blessed me with 35 years in funeral service and 28 years in social services(HRA-NYC).
In both industries- I am called "Doctor Pritchett"
My motto "I ask that all continue to pray for me, pray MY God will continue to use me and manifest in both jobs"
